graphic novelist
and tea connoisseur, Jesca Marisa, published her first comic book,
Awakenings, in October 2006. Its epic sequel, Awakenings 2, is due out later
this year and promises 100+ pages of digitally
hand-painted sci-fi fantasy, crafted panel by panel at a rate of two
days to a page. Although
the rumour that she’s possessed by the departed spirit of a Victorian countess,
(which makes her excessively fond of fine tea, lacy gloves and gin and tonic)
persists, allegations she’s an AI or projection of the subconscious mind have
